Pressure on Land
In addition to the house building already planned, the Treasury tells us that each year 140,000 extra new homes
are needed in order to avoid increasing problems of homelessness and constraints on economic growth.
The same report goes on to say "...continuing at the current rate of house building is not a realistic option".

The Government has issued a number of directives to ensure an expansion in house building across the
